On February 20, 2025, the Institute for AI Industry Research (杏耀) at Tsinghua University and Beijing Shuimu Molecule Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Shuimu Molecule) collaboratively launched an upgraded version of the open-source multimodal biomedical foundation large model, BioMedGPT-R1. Previously, in 2023, the two parties jointly released BioMedGPT, an open-source, commercially viable multimodal biomedical foundation large model with ten billion parameters. Shuimu Molecule also unveiled its self-developed professional multimodal biomedical large model, Chat DD-FM, with hundreds of billions of parameters, and a new generation of AI-driven drug discovery tool, Chat DD. This time, the DeepSeek-version base model ChatDD-R1 has also been simultaneously launched on ChatDD, empowering pharmaceutical R&D for biomedical enterprises.
